We present a partially disaggregated and ONOS-controlled optical network interfaced with a convergent Service Orchestration module (a.k.a., Service Orchestrator or RDCL 3D as illustrated below) to control in a cohesive way 5G CORE, 5G RAN and 5G TRANSPORT service domains:
  • Service Orchestrator deploys the platforms as well as the services of 5G CORE and 5G RAN domains,
  • The network control platform of 5G TRANSPORT domain is already deployed as a partially open disaggregated transport network controller i.e., ODTN Controller, Open Line System and terminal devices. Service Orchestration deploys a 5G TRANSPORT service by requesting network slices to ODTN controller through TAP1 2.1 RESTCONF interface. Each network slice is to ODTN Controller.
  • Network slice service requests are processed by ODTN Controller as TAPI optical connectivity and photonic connectivity service requests and then ODTN Controller provisions automatically the end-to-end multi-layer connectivity services to the devices through OpenConfig over NETCONF and OpenFlow.
The demonstration will be performed by accessing remotely our optical network control platform lab and by configuring and controlling the terminal devices.
