ONF Transport API (TAPI) provides a standardized interface for control, management and orchestration of multi-layer, multi-domain transport networks. TAPI includes technology-agnostic interfaces related to topology, connectivity, restoration, oam, path computation, notification, inventory, etc. It also includes technology-specific extensions for carrier-Ethernet, OTN, Photonic-media and others. TAPI has been adopted by the ONF OTDN project as the ONOS controller northbound interface in phase 1.0 and is planned to be used as the interface between ONOS and OLS controllers in phase 1.5. This talk will use the various ODTN use case scenarios to introduce and illustrate the key TAPI concepts. It will also provide a brief overview of the ONF TAPI project structure, workflow and status.
