The Wireless Transport Project (WTP) group, a subgroup of the ONF Open Transport Config & Control (OTCC) Project, has been defining open source information models for control of wireless transport devices and testing their implementation and interoperability across multiple vendors, under the sponsorship of Telefonica, AT&T and Deutsche Telekom.  The information models address the air interface between microwave and millimeterwave wireless devices as well as the use of Ethernet and OTN connectivity to connect wireless transport domains.  The models are fully aligned with ONF work on the Common Information Model being carried out in the ONF OIMT Project. This presentation
provides an update on the status of the work on wireless transport modeling and associated PoCs taking place in ONF and ONAP.

The wireless information model has been published as ONF TR-532, and an accompanying document, TR-545, defining a profile for the use of Netconf/YANG for wireless transport devices has recently been approved by the ONF OTCC Project.  This work has been validated through a series of Proof of Concept tests at different operator labs, including the most recent PoC that focused on integration of the wireless transport work into an ONAP-based orchestration architecture and application of the model to the RAN environment.  Following on this successful test, a 5th PoC is to take place in end November that will integrate with a related ONAP PoC.
